A DECADE OF POCSO: Developments, Challenges and Insights from Judicial Data
This report by Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy in collaboration with The World Bank analyses the POCSO Act in India as it completed 10 years in 2022. It is a reflection of what has worked and what needs to improve in the criminal justice system’s response to child sexual abuse. This is the largest ever study undertaken on POCSO courts yet, and is based on data from 400,000 cases (spanning 28 states and Union Territories), of which 230,730 have been analysed to understand the pendency and disposal patterns of POCSO cases. It includes the legislative history of the Act, analyses it in action and through data, and presents key challenges and recommendations for the time ahead.

Using Education to Combat Human Trafficking
This booklet by Hon’ble Smt. Justice Swati Chauhan (Principal Judge Family Court and Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Mumbai Suburban) is a guiding document on how to make children understand the concept of human trafficking by integrating it into their curriculum. It narrates the perils of human trafficking and how it can be prevented. The three chapters in this booklet introduce children to the concept, serve information that they can use for self-rescue and to help others come out of exploitative situations.

Handbook for Support persons 2021
This guide by Enfold Proactive Health Trust and UNICEF is a tool for support persons of child victims of sexual assault, and explains how they can best navigate the different processes related to assisting a victim.
Comprising of ten chapters, it begins with an explanation of th dynamics of child sexual abuse and lays down guidelines for the multiple areas where a Support Persons may assist the child – like during medical interventions, recording of child’s statement with magistrate, judicial proceedings etc. All information in this carefully curated document is a mix of learnings from interviews with victims of child sexual abuse and other stakeholders involved in the process of rehabilitation. It also includes best practises for working towards the welfare of victims of child sexual abuse.
