In India, crimes against children have been on the rise. Besides, there has been decrease in the conviction. There is an increasing fear of re-victimization and of cases being unheard. Traditional courts of law in India are not created with an eye for the special developmental needs of children. This Standard Operating Procedure attempts to facilitate as reference material for judicial officers and prosecutors on child-friendly procedures in cases of child abuse.
